My Sophomore year was an interesting year in high school. This was the year where I met Rusty. One of the first few weeks into the school year, Tracey and I spotted her at lunch, and I said, "We know her from band camp." Rusty noticed us, and came over. "Oh, hello," she said. She did seem happy to see us and we were happy to see her. We chatted for a bit, and she wanted us to meet up with her before school began for the day tomorrow. With that, she hugged me goodbye as the bell rang to signal time to head to a study block. I was blushing, and Tracey knew something was happening. "I think she really likes you," Tracey smirked. We headed to study, and all I could think of was her. The next day, we found her as planned before school began. She immediately hugged me, and I knew that something wonderful was beginning to happen. Little did Tracey or I realized exactly what we were in store for with her. She said, "Let's sit together at lunch." I replied, "Sure, why not? We'll see you later on at lunch. It's almost time for class, so we need to get to class." Later on, at lunch, we sat at a table that was clearly visible to students heading into the cafeteria. We saw her, and I got her attention. "Let me get my lunch, and I'll be right over," Rusty answered. Not too long later, she came over to us. She sat down at my side and proceeded to hug me while my sister was feeding me lunch. Tracey commented, "You really like my brother, don't you. I don't mind, instead I'm encouraging you." Rusty continued to hug me, and I could tell that she really meant it. Turning her attention to me, she asked, "Would you like to go out with me?" With that, I grabbed her and hugged her very, very tightly, responding, "Sure." What I could not foresee, nor could Tracey foresee, was just how interesting life would be with her. Truth be told, she would grow to resent that I was very close with both of my sisters. True, I love my sisters more than anyone (this is sometimes referred to as "Family over Friends"). For example, one day, when Tracey had the case of the common cold, I paid more attention to her. Over the couple of weeks, we could tell that she was trying to tear me away from my sister. In reality, it brought Tracey and I closer together. The one time I'll never forget was the time Rusty wanted to "get it on." She got mad at me when I said no. Keep in mind that this was after her father scared me half to death, and now she's wanting me to do her? Knowing her father, I refused (even when she claimed she got a hotel room for "just the two of us" - the only real problem with that, other than my refusal to have sex with her, was that I go nowhere without at least one of my sisters). One day, before school started for the day, Tracey and I caught her making out on a school bench with someone, only one day after she said to me, "you're the first person who truly loves me!" Tracey and I were quite happy, as this gave us a perfect reason to end our relationship with her. Little did we realize that the person she was cheating on me with was going to be the person who produced four children (three being triplets) with her by the time she was 20. Rusty would haunt our lives well into the future. We would learn the hard way that we haven't seen the end of her. |
